Sam's influence extends beyond entertainment. On July 21, 2018, he released his first book, Men Are Simple. That same day, Mayor Sylvester Turner issued a Proclamation officially recognizing July 21 as Sam Mac Day in the City of Houston, honoring Sam's leadership, entrepreneurship, and commitment to community service.
Through Sam Mac Cares, the philanthropic arm of SME, the company extends its impact beyond the entertainment experience. The initiative supports educators, veterans, community leaders, Black-owned businesses, and individuals and families in need.
